Whole Foods in Oakville is looking to share the Christmas spirit with many of those less fortunate in the community, through its Annual Greeting Card Contest and Grab & Give program.
The programs are an important effort to support initiatives that benefit local schools and the FareShare food bank. The two Oakville Whole Foods contests are being promoted in store and online through the help of social media and through the efforts of local printing companies.
The Annual Greeting Card Contest encourages local Oakville area students in grades 1-8 to send in creative greeting card designs, using their own imagination and creative tools. Designs will then be judged and selected by a panel of judges, with winning entries recreated and sold as printed greeting cards in store, at a price of $9.99 for a set of 12. Proceeds from the winning Christmas card sales will go on to benefit the FareShare food bank, along with the winning students’ schools. Winners will be chosen in different age range categories.
The Grab & Give program is also being promoted through poster printing in the Oakville store. Shoppers are able to make cash donations that benefit the FareShare food bank. Funds will then be used to purchase perishable foods and the store is looking to surpass its donation total last year of $15,550. The Grab & Give will run in store until December 31st.
Through local printing services, Whole Foods Oakville is using the Christmas season to demonstrate its core values.
