A unique and creative arts group called the Visual Word hosted its most recent literary and visual show at the historical Sovereign House in Oakville on Friday, September 1.
The exhibit had a large number of supporters from the local community and also drew traffic to this important landmark, with a boost from printed paraphernalia.
The Visual Word group is known to infuse art with literary genres and the group includes both visual artists who use various genres to inspire art in a different genre. Authors often base their poems on a visual representation or a visual artist may create a painting based on a poem.
The historical Oakville Sovereign House featured the artists’ work as of September 1 and the Visual Word also hosted a public reading event for general audiences on September 9. The entire exhibit runs until tomorrow, September 12, and will be open for public viewing on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, so locals who missed the opening of the exhibit can still get a glimpse of the artists' work.
The Oakville Sovereign House is home to the Bronte Historical Society and entrance to the Oakville Sovereign House is admission free, although donations are accepted and appreciated.
