Halton Regional Chair, Garry Car, reported a slight drop in the region’s unemployment levels, combined with business investment activity and increases in construction values.
Businesses looking to relocate or open shop should consider Halton Region, specifically Oakville, Milton and Burlington, after the reports of consistent economic activity and several key lucrative investments in the fourth quarter of 2011 that are expected to show growth in 2012 and onwards.
These booming businesses are close to Toronto, the hub of business activity in southern Ontario, and still in thriving communities, where business printing services are still in high demand. The latest reports will no doubt make the towns of Burlington, Milton, and especially Oakville very attractive to businesses, and consequently printing companies who support business services.
Some of the more exciting business highlights in the area include:
- Government of Ontario’s commitment to invest $3.3 million in Oakville based Goderich Corporation in the next five years, to create more jobs and support R & D for the Oakville landing gear manufacturers
- Construction of many residential dwellings in the entire region, raising new construction and expansion projects up 63% from last year
- Opening of a 400,000 square foot Premium Outlet Store Facility, which is expected to draw 2.5 million visitors to the Halton Hills area every year
These exciting economic developments, expansions and new construction projects are expected to boost businesses in the area, thus increasing demand for essential services like catalog printing for new stores, business card printing for emerging businesses, and banner printing to publicize information about upcoming developments and projects.
