A new program has been launched in Oakville that is geared towards addressing poverty in the community, by lending a helping hand up to families in need.
With a ceremony held at the SCAET auditorium of Sheridan College – during which remarks were made by representatives of the different groups who will be administering the project – the program, Homeward Bound Halton, has now been launched. Sheridan design students also unveiled a work of art to commemorate the start of the project.
The program is based upon the model of WoodGreen Community Foundation in Toronto, which has been running its program successfully.
The community-based scheme will help single parent families experiencing financial difficulties with areas like obtaining housing, free childcare, a college education that is fully funded, as well as a built-in internship so they can gain experience in their chosen field. The plan is to make it available to 15 families over the coming three years.
Homeward Bound Halton is being offered through a partnership between Sheridan College, Halton Region, Home suite Hope and the Oakville Community Foundation.
Administering a project such as this requires a lot of communication between the parties involved as well as accurate record keeping and documentation. A Stationery printing company will be able to provide all of the business Forms that will be needed to help ensure that the program is a success in helping those who need it most.Get a Free Quote for Stationery Get a Free Quote for Forms
