Halton Eco Festival returns to Oakville for 13th year

The Halton Eco Festival will take place in Oakville in early April. The festival is a presentation of the Oakville Community Centre for Peace, Ecology and Human Rights.

The festival will feature several educational presentations from guest speakers, a green marketplace, a silent auction, the Kids Eco Fun Zone and activities such as arts and crafts; there will also be door prizes.

There will be over 40 exhibitors and vendors taking part in the green marketplace; companies involved will include those dedicated to environmental responsibility. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on site.

Topics that will be discussed will include ‘What can be done about the Emerald Ash Borer?’ and ‘Keeping it green and making it beautiful: design principles of an eco-friendly garden’. Ron Woolley will also be showcasing some exotic animals live. It sounds like there will be something of interest to everyone in the family.

Vendors taking part in the green marketplace will likely be working with Oakville printing companies to prepare for the festival. They might want to invest in banner printing or sign printing to bring attention to their booths. Since most printing companies have adopted green principles, none of the vendors will feel they are going against their principles to hire them.

The 13th Halton Eco Festival will take place at Glen Abbey Community Centre on April 6. Admission is free and the first 500 people will receive a free blue box. Those interested in more information can call 905-849-5501.
