Gala dinner aims to unite Oakville
The Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton will be holding its annual May Soiree dinner this May, with a theme of “Creating Harmony” within the community.
The dinner will consist of four courses with an Afro-Caribbean theme, following an opening cocktail hour. The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Rosemary Sadlier, a writer and international speaker who has been appointed to the Order of Ontario for her work promoting diversity. The CCAH Board President will also make remarks. Individuals and organizations who have contributed to the Halton community will also be recognized in a special “4 Pillar” awards ceremony.
The gala will also feature musical performers from Juno-winning pianist Eddie Bullen, the CCAH’s own Steel Band group, and DJ Glen Als. Attendees are encouraged to take to the floor to dance the night away following the meal. Money raised through the event, as well as a raffle hosted on the night, will go towards the CCAH’s mission of promoting cultural diversity and Caribbean culture specifically in Oakville, Burlington, and other parts of Halton Region. Gala events like this often use methods like brochure printing and special speeches to help highlight the work the presenting organization is doing in the community.
The 2025 May Soiree dinner will take place on the evening of May 3 at the OE Banquet & Conference Centre in Oakville.
