Female entrepreneur program to begin at womens centers

Women interested in opening up their own businesses and becoming entrepreneurs now have a program at the Halton region and Oakville area Women’s Centre to help them refine their business acumen and skills and launch a business in their industry of choice.

The new Oakville and Halton region program is called the New Start Program and is specifically geared towards women, through mentoring, workshops, consultations with skilled professionals, and group and individual exercises. It will be three months in length and the mentors and consultants are all females who support the initiatives of fellow women and help represent gender equality in business ownership.

New Start will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Oakville and will equip women with insightful resources to begin a startup company. Some of the topics covered include useful information for any business owner regardless of industry- finances, sales, law, self-development, and, of course, marketing, including via printing services and other Forms of advertising.

Advertising is a very important area of consideration when examining ways to build clientele and is immensely important to the success of a business. Strategic printing services are one important way to reach target audiences about a business’ new products and services.

All participants will graduate upon completion of the program, which runs from early October until January. Sessions will take place on site at the Halton region and Oakville Women’s Centre.

Since 1989, The Women’s Centre has played an important role in providing support services for women of all ages, especially after experiencing abuse.
