Charity motorcycle ride to return to Oakville

A mass motorcycle ride will be making its way through Oakville this August, raising funds to benefit the Toronto-area children’s hospital SickKids.

The Ride for Sick Kids event will be the 12th annual edition of the fundraiser. Participating motorcyclists will have a light breakfast before departing on a pre-set path that will take them around Oakville with a police escort. Riders will leave in staggered groups to prevent overcrowding, with a maximum of 100 bikes for each of the four time slots. The ride will conclude with a pre-packaged lunch from Shoeless Joe’s. The goal is to provide a relaxed, scenic ride that will highlight the natural beauty of Oakville and surrounding regions.

Each rider will raise money for SickKids’ programs, which aim to benefit children who are suffering from serious diseases. Charitable walks, runs and bike rides often provide Promotional Products and other mementos for participants, and Ride for Sick Kids will be providing participants with a custom T-shirt and entry wrist band.

There will also be a promotional draw that will occur on October 1. Participants who contribute greater amounts of money will be in the draw for more extravagant prizes. The event is held in association with the Policaro Harley-Davidson dealership.

Oakville’s Ride for Sick Kids will take place on August 8. Cyclists will depart from North Maple Regional Park, with the exact route still to be announced.
