Traditional Milton area holiday parade to return

The Campbellville Country Christmas Parade will be returning to the Milton area this December to provide a chance to celebrate the holidays late in the season.

The event is a project of the rural community, with local businesses, community groups and individual families contributing floats and performances. Participants in parades like this often use banner printing to help recognize sponsors and contributing local organizations. The parade will conclude with a visit from Santa himself, allowing for one last chance to see the big man in red.

The Campbellville County parade is noted for being one of the last Santa Claus parades in the calendar year in all of Canada. The celebration marked its 50th anniversary last year, with a “decades” theme representing its history beginning in the 1970s. There were performances by the Chris Hadfield Air Cadets and Halton Police Pipe and Drums bands, along with approximately three dozen floats.

The parade also includes local citizens becoming “honorary mayors” and joining in the festivities, along with “mayors” from past years. Visitors are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate to local charities. Not everything about the parade is traditional, however, as in recent years the event has been live-streamed online for those unable to attend in person.

The 2025 Campbelville Country Christmas Parade will take place on the afternoon of December 21 on Campbelville’s Main Street, near Milton.
