The group is made up of Cindy Church, Marc Jordan, Murray McLauchlan, and Ian Thomas, who have written for some of the biggest names in rock and country. Church provides the group’s primary vocals, while the others contribute their performance and songwriting expertise. The group was originally formed in 2004 for what was meant to be a one-off tour, the group has since toured their native Canada several times.
The group will be performing a mixture of their songs written for artists ranging from Bon Jovi to Josh Groban, as well as original songs like “Farmer’s Song” and “Marina Del Rey”. The Milton concert is one of over a dozen stops on Lunch at Allen’s farewell tour in small cities and towns throughout Ontario, with other stops including North Bay and Parry Sound.
Concert tours like this often use methods like poster printing and radio advertising to help reach local music lovers. Promotional material for the Lunch at Allen’s farewell tour portrays the concerts as heartfelt performances:
“Attending their stage show is to embark on an intimate musical journey replete with laughter and personal anecdotes, familiar favourites and new material, fashioning an unforgettable evening's entertainment ... from their hearts ... to your soul.”
The Lunch at Allen’s farewell tour will perform at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton on November 14.
