The Wheels 2026 event will take place this June, with bikers, hikers and other travellers tackling Milton’s wilderness for a good cause.
Wheels will allow participants to “choose your own adventure” with three different options for outdoor exercise. A five-kilometre route for hiking or mountain biking will run across different altitudes through forested trails. Cyclists of all levels can also tackle a flatter cycling route for a 25, 50, or 100-kilometre ride. Families or those looking for a more casual activity can take part in a relaxed stroll along the boardwalk.
Events will start in a staggered format based on the length of the distance. All bikers and walkers will finish at the same time, and take part in a celebration lunch at the finish line. The top finishers and donors will receive awards. Athletic events such as this one often use local printing services or trophy makers to create lasting souvenirs and awards.
Proceeds from Wheels 2026 will go towards The Darling Home for Kids, which provides supports for children with complex medical issues and their families. Promotion for the event emphasizes that:
“By taking part in Wheels, you’re doing more than just enjoying a day outdoors - you’re helping provide specialized care, comfort, and joyful experiences for children with complex medical needs. Every pedal. Every step. Every stride makes an impact.”
Wheels 2026 will take place at the Kelso Conservation Area in Milton on June 28.
