Revamped summer street festival to return to Milton

For the first time in three years, downtown Milton will be home to a summer street festival, although it may be different from what residents remember.

This year’s events will mark a new approach taken by the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area, which typically holds the large Downtown Milton Street Fest each year, which, in the past, has seen over 90,000 attendees. Now, the goal is to hold a more intimate and safer event twice a year, while still celebrating the city and encouraging people to visit Milton’s downtown core.

This means that the Street Fest will become Downtown Milton SummerFest, held in June, and Downtown Milton HolidayFest in December. There will still be road closures allowing for visitors to fully enjoy the urban space.

SummerFest will see local businesses and organizations set up tables along the street, allowing for visitors to sample the best of what Milton has to offer. Street festivals such as this can be vital to local businesses, which often use the opportunity to directly interact with new customers and offer rare sales or Promotional Products.

Local musicians and artists will take to the stage to perform live throughout the festival, with Milton’s festivals known for a diverse array of styles and genres. There will also be family-friendly activities and games available.

The Downtown Milton SummerFest will make its debut on June 18 along Main Street East.
