Oakville and Milton Humane Society invited pet owners to light up the night with love

Pet owners from across Milton and Oakville are reminded that they can show their love for their feathery, furry or scaly friends while helping other animals in need this holiday season.

The Oakville and Milton Humane Society will be hosting its annual Tree of Lights Fundraiser, and it has put out a call to the public to help decorate it. Those who have a pet, who have lost one they cared for or who just want to lend a helping hand for can purchase a red or white light for the tree. The white lights are for remembrance and the red are in honor of a pet that is still living. They can be purchased for $5 each, and donations to the society will also be most welcome.

Anyone who buys a light is invited to return to the shelter when the lights are turned on to celebrate and socialize with others who love their pets. A company that produces Promotional Products can be called upon to supply custom tree decorations for a celebration like this.

The Tree of Lights ceremony will be held on December 15, and the lights can be purchased any time before that date. They can be bought at the shelter, which is located at 445 Cornwall Road in Oakville, and more information can be obtained by emailing treeoflights@omhs.ca or by visiting the society’s website.
