Milton women encouraged to take part in Mammothon

Women from Milton are encouraged to take part in an event that will allow them to take charge of their health.

The Milton District Hospital is participating in Mammothon-A One Day Breast Screening Blitz. The event, which is taking place across the entire province, encourages women aged from 50-74 to sign up to get a mammogram, which can help to detect breast cancer in its very early stages. They do not need a doctor’s referral to participate, and can simply make an appointment.

Part of the mandate for the blitz is to help women and their families learn more about this procedure and why it is important. It is also intended to provide an environment that is warm and welcoming to the women who come in to get one. A variety of Promotional Products can be produced by a printer to help get the word out to women in the local area about an event so that as many as possible will choose to participate.

Those who plan on taking part are asked to arrive 20 minutes early for their appointment, to bring along their OHIP card, and to avoid waring any talcum powder or deodorant, as this may affect the test.

The event will take place on October 20. Anyone who is interested in booking an appointment is asked to call 905-813-4220 for further details, or they can visit the event's website.
