The Secret Gardens of Milton Tour will be returning this summer, highlighting some of the town’s little-seen horticulture.
The tour will be held for the first time in two years, and bring visitors to private gardens around Milton. Participants are encouraged to travel the tour route a their own pace and are provided with a customized booklet highlighting the route and describing some of the plants on display, including fruits, vegetables and herbs alongside beehives and the more traditional flowers. Local activities often use local Print shops to create informative documents like this guiding people along.
The event is hosted by the Milton Horticultural Society and is designed as a way to bring like-minded gardeners together and help show off their work. The tour will also raise funds for the Society and contribute to its year-round educational programs on gardening and horticulture as well as maintaining the Sunny Mount Community Garden. Participants will receive gift coupons for coffee & muffins from Springridge Farm, with suggestions for local food stops also included in the booklet. The Society has said the event will be the kick-off for a broader Garden Week commemorating the Year of the Garden, including tree planting and educational programs for both children and adults.
The 2022 Secret Gardens of Milton Tour is scheduled for July 10 at locations around the city, with tickets available to purchase in advance.
