Live performances will be returning to Milton with the Tune In Fest 2021, an outdoor festival of independent Canadian music.
The festival is a project of Dropout Entertainment, a music and culture website. The festival will include over a dozen performances by artists like Toronto singer-songwriter Dani Kristina, throwback rock band Pink Leather Jackets and Milton’s own gothic vocalist Apricity. Other bands involved include Starship Experience, Jammer’s Waffle House and Lucid Smog Disorder.
The festival will be hosted by Johnny Hirst from The Hirst Brothers Podcast and a surprise guest. The event will also include local food trucks, with raffles providing a chance to win prizes.
Proceeds from each $10 ticket go towards the Save Toronto Music Venues initiative, and many of the artists on-stage are part of the effort, which aims to keep smaller concert spaces going through social distancing restrictions, often raising funds through selling exclusive art and merchandise.
The event will be the first music festival ever to be held at Milton’s Country Heritage Park, a theme park that pays tribute to Ontario’s history. Festivals like this offer a substantial opportunity to up-and-coming musicians and are often advertised through poster printing, with Tune In Fest using a colourful poster with simplified images of musical instruments.
Tune In Fest 2021 will take place on Sunday, September 5 at the Country Heritage Park in Milton.
