Milton to host its first ever operatic performance

Opera connoisseurs from the Milton area will soon be in for a real treat when Milton hosts its very first operatic performance.

On March 28th, Milton Concert Publications (MCP) will present a performance of Puccini’s “La Boheme” by Jeunesses Musicales of Ontario, which is affiliated with Jeunesses Musicales of Canada. It will showcase some of the most promising young vocal talents from all over the country, under the musical direction of Louise-Andree Baril.

It is a love story that tells the tale of Mimi and Rodolpho, two lovers in Paris in the 19th Century, and may appeal to the novice and experienced opera goer alike.

The occasion is somewhat bittersweet, as this will be the final season for MCP. Next year will see the torch being passed to the Milton Center for the Arts.

For the past two decades, MCP has lobbied to have a concert venue that would best suit the requirements of the local population. The organisation felt that the Milton Center for the Arts will provide just that.

Aficionados note that the center is a suitable venue for operatic, symphony and theater performances. The facility is known for its strong acoustics and during intermission, members of the audience can enjoy a glass of wine while they discuss the performance.

Poster printing companies can produce colorful Posters to promote the performances. These are often considered to be highly decorative and collectable among those who enjoy a night out at the opera.
