A Milton summer institution will look to return this summer, as the 13th annual Milton Street Festival is scheduled for a June date.
The Street Festival typically features a smorgasbord of food, other vendors, musical acts, kids’ activities and other attractions. Food will be offered through both a dedicated Food Truck Zone, in view of a stage and including a beer tent presented by the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Other options can be found around the festival area as part of the “Food on the Street” program. Another popular destination will be the Kidz Zone, which includes bouncy castles, bungee runs, obstacle courses, and educational activities.
Like many local festivals, Milton Street Festivals draws on volunteer labour and the participation of local businesses who register to provide a table or a food truck. These festivals can be a boon to local artisans, who sometimes also use business card printing and Promotional Products to convert walk-by business into repeat customers. They also provide a chance for local musical artists and groups to gain exposure. Last year’s event saw thousands of attendees despite rainy weather, and featured The Spoons as the headlining musical act.
The 2020 edition of the Milton Street Festival is currently scheduled for June 6 in downtown Milton, although ongoing restrictions on large events and city facilities may lead to rescheduling.
