Residents of Milton and its surrounding areas recently had a chance to enjoy a full day of excitement at the Downtown Milton Street Festival.
The celebration was free of charge and ran from noon until eleven at night. There was live entertainment, games and activities for the kids, along with buskers, food trucks, and a variety of vendors and local artisans, who were on hand to sell their wares.
Milton Transit provided free transportation for those who wished to attend, and thousands were expected to take part in the festivities. Signage produced by a printing company could have helped to get the word out to the public that they can make use of such services, which can help to make it easier for them to get to events without having to use a vehicle of their own.
The occasion was hosted by the Milton Downtown Business Improvement Area and the Town of Milton, with Festivals and Events Ontario having included the festival in its top 100 list for the past two years.
Janet Davidson, who is the spokesperson for the celebration, noted that it is a family-friendly time, which is free and accessible to all. She was also pleased to note that the community stage at Main and Martin streets featured live music that was all performed by local artists.
