Milton show to take visitors back to Jurassic age

The touring Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo will be coming to Milton this March, providing families and the young at heart a chance to get up close with a recreation of prehistoric creatures.

The event is a product of Erth Visual & Physical Inc, an Australian puppetry and special effects company that tours around the world. Visitors will go on a guided tour that begins in pre-historic Oceania and encompasses lifelike models of dinosaurs, giant insects, pterodactyls and other creatures. The hour-long show involves dozens of performers and puppeteers, and includes an educational narrative throughout, with the script promoted as much as the special effects:
“With its glorious, laconic, Aussie humour, get right up close and personal with an amazing array of prehistoric creatures, from baby dinos to some of the largest carnivores and herbivores that have ever walked the planet.”

The Dinosaur Zoo will be in Milton for one day, with a daytime performance for schools and an evening one open to all audiences. The Milton stop is part of a North American tour that also includes stops in Oakville, St. Catharines, and Kingston. Live exhibits like this often use tools such as brochure printing and video recordings to help further the educational message.

Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live will appear at the Mattamy Theatre in Milton’s FirstOntario Arts Centre on March 7.
