Milton police help local residents protect property

Police in the Milton area are reminding all local residents that it’s everyone’s responsibility to help keep the community safe, and are teaching them how to prevent crime. Messages to homeowners were being personally hand delivered by Milton police last weekend, with tip sheets being handed out to help residents prevent incidents of break in and consequential property loss.

The tips offered to Milton residents are simple steps that homeowners can take to deter theft and damage, such as the installation of audible home alarms, raising insurance premiums to cover valuables, detailing inventory of items in the home with photographs in case items are stolen, and reporting suspicious people in the neighbourhood.

Police efforts this weekend mainly focused their efforts a new section of northeast Milton, which they believe may be more readily targeted by criminals. The efforts are in response to a recent rash of break ins in newer neighbourhoods.

If homeowners missed the visit or require additional Copies of the tips, they can also read the tip sheets in six different languages on Halton Regional Police’s website.

Printers in the local area can provide a wide variety of valuable printing services to the police, to help disseminate important information to the public quickly. In addition to the printing of tip sheets, printers have no doubt also assisted law enforcement with flyer printing warning of wanted persons or suspicious activity in Milton neighbourhoods and Posters of emergency numbers on community billboards in the area.
