The 2013 Gift of Health Gala, which is presented by the Milton District Hospital Foundation, is taking place this weekend.
The gala is the main fundraising event for the Foundation; last year's event raised more than $128,000 and facilitated the purchase of three electrocardiogram machines for the hospital. This year, the Foundation hopes to raise enough to purchase a portable x-ray machine for the hospital.
This year's theme is ‘Under the Sultan's Tent’ and the event will have a Moroccan flavor to it. It will feature a cocktail reception, a gourmet dinner, silent and live auctions and live entertainment. Approximately 300 people are expected to attend the gala. This event will probably attract local philanthropists, business leaders and city dignitaries; all of whom are committed to improving the health of residents of Milton.
Local businesses will no doubt be donating items for the auctions. Many of them might work with Milton printing companies to let the community know about their involvement in the gala. This might come in the form of a flyer that will be distributed throughout the community or Posters displayed in various public buildings in the city. Any advertising will likely encourage more people to attend the gala and to show their support for the Milton District Hospital.
