Milton exhibition hopes to showcase art societys talents

A new show has started at the Holcim Gallery at the Milton Center for the Arts.

This latest offering at the venue features the works of the 33 artists who make up the Color and Form Society (CFS), and bears the title ‘Simply Color and Form’.

It is scheduled to be open to the public until April 28th.

The grand opening for the exhibit was recently held, and featured performances by musicians Jazz Plazma and Stella Jergen. A Stationery printing firm can produce Catalogues, to be given to visitors to the show, that contain information about artistic works and the people who created them.

The CFS’s vice president noted that the show is meant to be a tribute to the founders of the society, which was formed back in 1952 by a group of artists who had come over from Europe after the end of the Second World War.

Through the years, it has grown to encompass the talents of Canadians form all over the world. The VP also pointed out that this form of artistic expression involves shapes, lines, and Forms, and is not constrained by the rules of the natural world.

Organizing the event has taken over a year, there are also shows planned for later in 2015 in Brampton, as well as the Etobicoke Civic Center.
