The Town of Milton was recently given an accolade that may help to encourage more companies to set up shop within its borders.
Profitguide.com named the town as being “The Best Place for Business” in the whole country". A company that provides marketing services can include this new designation in the Promotional Products and other items it creates for the town.
To come to its decision, the site used a variety of indicators, including data obtained form from municipal government, as well as market and demographic data.
Milton performed very strongly in a number of areas, such as median household income, population growth, the percentage of residents with a trade or apprenticeship certificate, and also the percentage of those who live there who have a university degree.
Other factors that were considered involved how “business friendly” it is. These involved a number of areas including the time it takes to have a business permit processed, tax rates, average housing costs and the average rate to rent either commercial or office space.
The site also felt that the town is located in an ideal spot, close to both the Canada-US border and the GTA.
