Milton charitable book sale returns

The CFUW Book Sale has become a tradition in Milton, and the charitable event will be returning for its 47th annual edition this spring.

The book sale stretches across two days and features used Books donated from Milton residents. Donations opened on April 2, with drop-off available at all Milton Public Library locations. The 47th edition was originally slated to take place in April 2020, but postponed for public health reasons, and it is now finally ready to return. Used book sales like this typically draw in customers looking for good deals, rare finds or throwback titles with a vintage graphic design on the cover, and are a popular fundraising tool for charities and libraries.

The book sale helps to raise funds for the Milton chapter of the CFUW – the Canadian Federation of University Women. Proceeds go towards a scholarship program that helps local female high school graduates afford tuition to access university and college programs. This year’s scholarship program is still open to submissions until April 30. The organization also hosts events around International Women’s Day and a speaker series throughout the year to contribute to continuing education.

The 2022 CFUW Milton & District 47th Annual Book Sale will take place at Milton Mall on May 13 and 14. There is also a storefront at the mall available for book drop-off leading up to the sale.
