The lucky models are three-and-a-half year old domestic longhair Olly and two-and-a-half-year-old tabby Sophie, who appear together in the photo for the month of March. The cats share the home with Bernadoodle Zazu and owner Patricia Taciak.
Taciak’s photo of the two cats cuddling together was selected from over 60,000 submissions from across Canada. The calendar also contains a short biography of the cats:
“Sophie (the tabby) and Oliver (the Long-haired Domestic) were both adopted, Sophie as a kitten from an animal clinic, and Olly was rehomed with his family when he was about 18 months old. They both love looking out windows and sleeping in.”
Sales of the calendar will benefit the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, which helps train and supply support dogs for people with disabilities. The calendar’s lucrative cover spot went to Eveleigh, a Dachshund from Toronto, while other months feature hamsters, hedgehogs and budgies.
Many stores and organizations use Calendars and similar Promotional Products to help raise money for good causes, or to simply provide fun images throughout the year.
The calendar featuring Olly, Sophie and other furred and feathered stars will be available at Pet Valu locations through January in exchange for a donation.
