Print can have a very powerful effect on the community, especially for humanitarian purposes as they continue to fill the shelves in libraries in needy places all over the world, such as Haiti, Ethiopia and Indonesia.
Milton resident and photographer/author Mark Zelinksi has tapped into the importance of printed resources recently, by donating over 6,000 new photography Books to less fortunate places, such as; libraries, schools and orphanages. The publishing company From the Heart Publishing is a Print company that prints photography Books for educational purposes for use in the school systems of less fortunate countries.
Zelinksi also sells Books as fundraisers to stop human rights violations and help raise awareness about social issues. Books are intended for good will gifts or for rescue victims. Some Books are used by organizations such as the Free the Children and Canadian Red Cross.
A few of Zelinski’s Books are visual stories about the human condition; these Books are Books that even the illiterate adults and children around the world can read; they are designed to educate the world about the human condition.
Zelinski’s work is testament to the enormous pedagogical and social power that printed resources can provide to all every institution in society, from the business institutions to the educational curriculum in schools.
