An invitation has been extended to the public to take part in an event near Milton that will allow them to show their support to local veterans.
The Veterans Helping Veterans Foundation will be hosting its second annual golf tournament at Granite Ridge Golf Course. The day will start off with registration and a luncheon before its time to take to the links. The guest speaker for the day with be General Walt Natyczy, who is the Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs. Along with him, Walter Gretzky and Ron Maclean will also be on hand for the event, and the snowbirds aeronautical team will perform a flyover. Supper will also be served.
Donations are also being gratefully accepted for “care Bags”. Items requested include socks, underwear, toothpaste, toothbrush, gum, combs, and gift cards.
Tickets for the full day are $200 each, while those for the dinner portion of the function have been priced at $75. Hole sponsorships are also available for $150. Registration starts on September 1 at 11:00 am, with shotgun tee time taking place at 1:00 pm.
