Part of the job of the Oakville-Milton Humane Society (OHS) is to help find homes for animals that need them, and this holiday season, the group is getting some extra help from someone special.
Families who want to adopt a kitten or an older cat this December have an option that will make the process even more special. For an extra $100, they can have their new furry friend arrive via special delivery from none other than Mrs Claus herself. This amount covers a cardboard carrier for their new pet, as well as the costs for delivery and boarding at the Humane Society until the special day when they arrive at their new home. Any money left over will be used to help the animals still left at the shelter.
Deliveries can be arranged for Christmas Eve between 4:00 and 7:00pm and Christmas day from 9:00am until noon. The new arrival will travel in style in a specially marked Santa Paws delivery van.
A professional Print company may well be called upon to produce magnetic Signs that can be used on the vehicles.
While some may be apprehensive about taking in a new pet at this time of year, the OHS shelter manager has said that these adoptions are usually just as successful as those arranged at any other time. The most important thing is that the family carefully considers their decision.
Anyone interested in providing a new home for one of the animals is asked to call the shelter or visit its official website.
