Winterfest is taking place in Hamilton for nine days this February. It is a presentation of the City of Hamilton's Tourism and Culture Division.
Various events will be taking place throughout the city during the festival. The kick off to the event will take place at Pier 8. It is set to feature entertainment from performers such as Dave Gould and the Balfolk Dance Core and a DJ. There are also going to be hands-on activities such as building bird feeders, ice bowling, making glow in the dark lanterns and chocolate painting. Winterlore is an art exhibition which will also take place at the opening event and several local artists are set to paint a mural during the evening. Food and beverages will also be available for sale.
Other things that are expected to take place include the 2nd annual Roots on Route Festival, which is an arts exhibition will help to start off Black History Month, the Winter Frolic at the Battlefield Park and Museum, a pancake breakfast and wagon rides at Gage Park.
After the cold weather of January this should be a nice celebration for city residents and visitors. Organizers might possibly be investing in services such as poster and banner printing in Hamilton. These items can help to decorate an event and help to raise excitement.
Winterfest is taking place from February 1 to 9 in Hamilton. The kick-off at Pier 8 will take place on February 1 from 3:00 - 10:00 PM. Admission is free. For more information visit the official website.
