Hamilton Hammers to drop the puck

Pro hockey will be back in Hamilton this October, as the Hamilton Hammers make their debut in the city’s downtown.

The team plays in the American Hockey League, the top level of the minors below the NHL, and features prospects and other players from the New York Islanders organization. The team will make their home debut in a special opening night game against new regional rivals the Toronto Marlies. The team will also take to the ice against the Marlies later that same weekend, followed by hosting the Rochester Americans and Syracuse Crunch.

Hamilton previously hosted AHL hockey for over a decade with the original Hamilton Bulldogs team. The league offers a chance to see the NHL stars of tomorrow, as well as veterans returning to the game. Recently signed Hammers players include Max Ellis and Chas Sharpe.

The team offers season tickets as well as flex packs, and an initial run of merchandise. The Hamilton Hammers home opener will take place on October 9, with all home games at TD Coliseum.
