A long-term staple of Hamilton summers, The Festival of Friends will be holding its 50th edition this summer, featuring plenty of special guests.
The Festival is noted for bringing high-profile Canadian acts to Hamilton for free outdoor performances. The anniversary edition will feature headlining performances from 11-time Juno winner and Canadian indie icon Feist as well as country music star Dallas Smith. The festival grounds will feature four stages of music and all, with dozens of acts in every genre from rock to hop.
The weekend will conclude with a special 50th Anniversary All-Star Celebration, featuring acclaimed national acts like Chantal Kreviazuk, Hawksley Workman and Maestro Fresh Wes as well as Hamilton legends such as Teenage Head and Harrison Kennedy. The show will be hosted by Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, who will also provide backing music.
The Festival of Friends is also known for its extensive midway featuring rides and carnival games for a family vendors, as well as a marketplace of food trucks and artisan vendors. Items on offer range from unique clothes to wood-carved statues. Vendors at summer festivals like this often offer special promotional items and savings to take advantage of the large audience.
The 2026 Festival of Friends will run from July 31 to August 2 at Gage Park in Hamilton and is free to attend.
