The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum will be looking to provide visitors with a blast from the past at their Swing Out to Victory Dinner & Dance this November.
The event will look to provide the classic feeling of a swing night from the 1940s and 50s, complemented by vintage aircraft from World War II and other eras. Attendees are invited to dress in vintage fashion or military uniforms, but it is not mandatory. Instructors will provide lessons on the basics of swing dancing so that people of all experience levels can take to the floor.
Music will be provided by the Toronto All-Star Big Band, providing a set full of vintage songs. Visitors will also receive a buffet dinner with food including grilled chicken breast, roast beef, a vegetable medley, sweets, and more. Attendees with dietary restrictions can also contact the museum for alternatives.
The goal of the evening is to showcase the Museum’s vintage aircraft and other historical items while raising funds for its mission. The museum will also be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to Hamilton Food Share. Cultural and educational dinners often use methods like banner printing to help create an evocative atmosphere for gala dinners and fundraising events.
The Swing Out to Victory Dinner and Dance will take place on the evening of November 14 at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Dance-only tickets are also available.
