What's Happening in Hamilton, ON…

Street festivals coming to Hamilton

Now that spring has arrived, many people in Canada are excited to get outside and enjoy all the community has to offer. Two festivals in early June are set to give residents of Hamilton an excuse to enjoy the outdoors.

The Concession Street Festival will be hosted by the Hamilton B.I.A. and the Concession Street Shopping District. There will be plenty of activities at this family-friendly festival, including music and dance performances, sidewalk sales, open restaurant patios and children's activities such as a petting zoo, face painting and inflatables. There will also be craft and food vendors on site.

Craft vendors will be able to rent a 10x10 space for $75; food vendors will pay $300. Sponsorships are also available for Hamilton and area businesses. The organizers will probably be working with local printing companies to help recognize those sponsors on banners or signs during the festival.

The Dundas International Buskerfest is presented by the Downtown Dundas Shopping District. It will feature three days of street entertainment, food, crafts, and commercial vendors. Craft vendors and commercial vendors can rent space at the festival for $200 and $300.

Both events should make for a pleasant way to spend a day with the family.

The 17th annual Concession Street Fair will take place on June 1 from 11:00am - 6:00pm. For more information, call 905-388-5482.

The Dundas International Buskerfest will take place in downtown Dundas from June 7 - 9. Those looking for more information can call 905-628-3217.
