Red Green fans come to Hamilton to attend auction

Fans of the popular and long-running Canadian TV program ‘The Red Green Show’ recently came together in Hamilton for a chance to purchase some of their favourite pieces of memorabilia.

The auction was held at the Mr. Used location on Barton Street East, and featured a wide range of props and other pieces of the show’s set, which had been in storage since the end of the program’s run.

Around 100 people showed up for the event, with some making the trip from a great distance. Telephone bids were also accepted, with the furthest one coming from an American who’s currently living in the Philippines.

The pieces up for auction included such items as canoe paddles, signs, a gas mask, duck decoys, fishing tackle, a rocking chair, an antler cribbage board, and of course, rolls of the show’s trademark duct tape.

The highest bid of the day was $900 for a clock, with a wooden briefcase going for $800.

Created by Canadian comedian Steve Smith, The Red Green Show ran from 1991 until 2006, and featured a cast of Canadian actors and comedians. It inspired books, live shows and even a full-length movie.

An auction such as this can be kept as organized as possible through the use of specially printed auction banners and record sheets, all of which can be created by a print company.
