In February, local model train enthusiasts will come together to share their passion at the annual Family Day Model Train Show, held in the 1913 Electric Pumphouse Building at the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology.
A grey winter day is the perfect time to visit the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology, a National Historic Site that is home to two 70-ton Canadian steam-powered pump engines and a collection of artifacts that recall Hamilton’s great industrial history.
The Golden Horseshoe Live Steamers will bring their love of trains to an interactive display day where guests can have a close-up look at miniature working model steam and electric trains. Visitors are invited to speak to volunteers about becoming involved in this delightful hobby and to take a peek into the intricate workings of a scale model system.
Families are encouraged to bring along their young ones to participate in train-themed crafts and activities that will be offered by the museum while learning about the golden days of steam travel. Hobby clubs such as this can benefit from using banner printing to promote their events and create visual interest at their chosen venue to attract visitors.
The Family Day Model Train Show will take place on February 20th from 12pm to 4pm and has no admission free. If visitors wish to tour the museum, regular admission rates apply.
