Hamilton residents gear up for antique shows

Antique enthusiasts in Hamilton are preparing to hunt for bargains when two sale events come to the area early next month.

The Christie Classic Antique Show will feature more than 300 dealers on 10 acres of land. Dealers will be selling a wide variety of items, including golf accessories, Postcards, furniture, nostalgic and pop-culture trinkets, and folk art. Food will also be available for purchase. Those who are looking for that special item for their home are sure to find something at the show.

The Locke Street Festival is a presentation of the Locke Street Merchants Association. More than 15,000 visitors are expected to enjoy a mix of gift vendors, food, and musical entertainment from artists such as The Swingtets, the Bar Chords, Tomi Swick, and Katie Bulley. Vendors can rent a space for $110 for the day and will be selling such items as jewelry, pottery, and clothing. It is expected that there will be something to appeal to every taste.

No doubt vendors at both shows will be investing in services from Hamilton printing companies to prepare. This might include sign, poster, postcard, and banner printing services.

The Christie Classic Antique Show will take place at the Christie Lake Conservation Area on September 7 from 8:00am-5:00pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for those aged 12 and under. Call 905-525-2181 or 905-648-4427 for more information.

On the same day, the Locke Street Festival will be open to visitors from 10:00am - 11:00pm. For more information, call 905-741-2429.
