Ontario needs a constant influx of new ideas and diversity in order to meet future needs, according to the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s meeting in Hamilton and other Ontario cities on Tuesday, August 21.
Allan O’Dette, president of the Chamber, met with various business leaders in both traditional sectors, like education and manufacturing, and newer creative industries to discuss the Emerging Stronger initiative. Eight different Emerging Stronger seminars were held in various Ontario urban centres.
Hamilton is already striving to foster a culture of risk-taking and innovation to help transform the local Ontario economy. Back in May, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce studied broad areas of innovation and is looking to target specific goals for the Emerging Stronger Initiative. The most recent meeting was the Chamber’s first real attempt at transforming some of the broader areas and create specific goals.
Printing companies are prominent members of the creative industries and can become involved in helping to come up with new ways to evolve within a constantly developing and shifting Ontario economy. There is a strong relationship between local printers and the businesses they service, seeing as the needs and natures of printing services change and diversify as businesses themselves thrive and develop.
Local Hamilton printers should contact their local Chamber of Commerce to provide input on how to implement future priorities into specific goals and also to learn more about the changing nature of local business and how this affects the demand and need for printing services.
The provincial economic summit, scheduled for November, will bridge together the ideas discussed at the eight previous Emerging Stronger seminars held throughout Ontario.
