Hamilton area project to remove invasive shrub species

European buckthorn is a species that has become invasive in the Hamilton area, and the public has been asked to lend a hand with a project that will work to remove it from local ecosystems

The Burlington Green team and Conservation Halton have joined forces to offer an opportunity for the public to get involved in an environmental stewardship project. Participants will use shovels and other tools to remove the plants, and they will also install native wetland species.

Those who sign up for the project are asked to wear shoes with closed toes or boots, as well as long pants, and insect repellent can also be helpful. They are also asked to bring a refillable water bottle and snacks. Equipment will be provided, and at the end of the morning, lunch will be served.

While all ages are encouraged to get involved in the project, those who are 18 or under will need to have a waiver signed by their parent or other guardian, and each adult participant will also have to sign a waiver. A company that produces Letterheads can also design and Print business Forms such as these.

Conservation Halton has planned this invasive species removal activity for October 12th. As it will be taking place on private property, the location will be released to the registrants after they sign up for the day.
