Hamilton households who would like to learn where their food, textiles and other agricultural products come from are invited to be part of an activity that will give them a sneak peek behind the farm gate.
Farm Crawl’s final instalment for 2024 is scheduled for mid-September, and this not-for-profit initiative is open to all. There are several stops on the list to visit, and as each of the venues will be run by individual farm operators, it will truly be a grass-roots experience.
Each of the participating operations will have its own set of activities on offer, and the proceeds from ticket sales will be used to market future Farm Crawls. The event is self-directed, and tickets must be presented at each location to gain entry. There will be no set number of farms to stop at. It will provide opportunities to learn about local agriculture, and there may be fresh produce available for purchase.
Tickets to be part of the Crawl are priced at $17.50 for adults, with a discount available for youth and seniors. Stationery printers can prepare maps and other items that can be helpful to those taking part in an organized event like this.
The September Farm Crawl will be offering a glimpse into the area's agricultural sector on September 14th. Each location will be open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
