Halifax information session to explore joys of urban chickens

Keeping backyard chickens is one option open to Halifax residents, and an information session will provide an introduction to this form of urban animal husbandry.

A workshop is on offer early in 2021 that will explore the ins and outs of raising chickens in an urban or suburban setting, and those who attend the session will even have a chance to meet some friendly hens in person. There is no fee being charged to take part, but the planners have said that a small donation to help meet the expenses of hosting the function will be appreciated.

The group will discuss the basics of providing a comfortable home for a small flock and it will also include details about housing, chicken health, and the laws regarding raising them in a residential area. The attendees will head outdoors to see some living in Halifax, so everyone who registers is reminded to dress appropriately.

Arming the participants in this sort of event with additional printed learning materials will allow them to continue learning even after it is over. A brochure printing company will be able to prepare these sorts of publications as well as a full line of Promotional Products and other items.

Chicken Keeping 101 has been scheduled to take place on February 20, and it will begin at 1:00 pm. The venue for the function can be found at 2494 Creighton Street.
