Fall fair returns to the Hamilton area for the 166th year
The Rockton World’s Fair is taking place next month for four days over Thanksgiving weekend.
An old-fashioned fall fair, the event will feature agricultural shows, competitions, live entertainment and amusement rides.
There will be 4H competitions where children get to show off animals they have raised, horse shows, a chuck wagon competition, cattle shows, and several agricultural demonstrations. The midway will feature a variety of rides and games that should appeal to people of all ages.
Other activities to take place will include a demolition derby, an amateur talent contest and a karaoke contest. There will be performances by comedy juggler Craig Douglas, appearances by the Puppet Lady and a baby show. Guests can also take part in a pie-eating contest. The more adventurous can also enjoy helicopter rides around the grounds.
For those coming to the fair from Hamilton, there will be shuttle buses. To advertise this and the fair itself, local print shops are often asked to provide printed materials such as flyers, maps and schedules.
The Rockton World’s Fair will be held in Rockton from October 5 to 8. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $7 for children between the ages of 6 and 15. Weekend passes are also available. To find out more about this popular annual event, call 519-647-2502.
