Art Gallery of Hamilton to host festival
The Art Galley of Hamilton will be bringing back its AGHfest event this November, combining art, music and food into one celebration.
The festival will launch with the fashion show Unique, presenting one-of-a-kind outfits and styles. There will also be a Festival Launch Party on the opening night, with live music. The festival will include arts and craft workshops like “Transforming Sweetness into Masterpieces”, creating edible chocolate art, and “Frame by Frame: A Youth Filmmaking Workshop.”
Visitors can also attend live musical performances, including a performance by Chamber Music Hamilton featuring a survey of popular music over the last 300 years, and a participatory Community Sound Activation. Stand-up comedians and writers will lead a special tour through the art gallery with a humorous slant. There will also be film screenings for the documentary From Earth To Sky and the family film Sketch, hosted at the Westdale Theatre.
Thursday night will feature a Fluorescent Paint and Dance Party to welcome in the festival’s second weekend. The festival will conclude with a “Taste of Comfort” event that brings together local bakers and chefs to create a sampler of autumnal flavours. Art and food festivals like this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to help draw attention to the different events involved.
