Toronto Oktoberfest headed to Downsview

Toronto’s annual Oktoberfest celebration will be moving to Downsview for its 2024 edition, highlighting traditional German food, entertainment, and of course lederhosen.

The event features an assortment of Bavarian dishes ranging from bratwurst to schnitzel as well as more modern twists, with vegan and gluten-free options available. There will also be a selection of German and European beer, ale, and other spirits. The first 500 attendees will receive a free beer stein to take home as a souvenir. Promotional Products like these are often used to help spread awareness of an event, and can become unique keepsakes. Inspired by the traditional Bavarian celebration, Oktoberfest events such as this are held around the world throughout September and October.

The entertainment portion of the show will include German-inspired music ranging from polka to hard rock, as well as Schuhplatter dancers and a special cabaret show. The full line-up includes Old Weird Eyes with a tribute to German legend HEINO, the Black Forest Band, and the So You Think You Can Tanz contest. Participants are encouraged to wear traditional garb like suspenders and lederhosen, with some items available for purchase at the event, and to mingle and meet new people throughout the evening in the spirit of friendship.

The 2024 Toronto Oktoberfest celebration will take place on September 27 and 28 at an indoor hangar at the Downsview Airport Lands.
