The 25th annual Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival is returning to the city for 12 days this July.
There are expected to be over 150 stage productions in this year's festival, and they will take place at various venues during the run of the festival, including the Tarragon Theatre and the Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse.
Performances will include improv, dramas, comedies, and musicals; many of which will be especially aimed at children and families. Some of the titles that are in production this year are ‘Baker's Dozen’, ‘Bard Fiction’ and ‘In Denial: a One Woman Clown Show’. Tickets for the shows cost $12 each.
In addition, the Fringe Club will be holding plenty of free events and performances, including a series of tent talks. Other activities will include a costume contest, a 24-hour playwriting contest, board games, a storytelling tent, and a few underground dance parties. There will also be a pop-up art market outside featuring 14 visual artists.
This annual event attracts people from all over the GTA, including Downsview. A program, which was likely produced with the help of local brochure printers, is available to be picked up in several public areas.
The Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival will be running from July 3 to 14. To learn more about the event and the productions featured, call 416-966-1062.
