The Down East Brew Festival is scheduled to return to Fredericton this August, bringing an assortment of food and drink from across the Maritimes.
The outdoor festival will provide a sampling vessel to all attendees with which they can sample craft beer, wine, cider, and other spirits. There will also be two accompanying road races with food and drink themes. The Donut Dash will be a 500-metre sprint, with runners receiving a fresh-baked donut and custom beer mug at the end, while the Fredericton Beer Run will take participants across a six-kilometre path, plenty long enough to work up a thirst. Both races come with festival admission included in the entry fee.
In addition to drinks, there will be a number of food trucks and vendors on site. The event is a summer edition of the Fredericton Craft Beer Festival, which was held in March earlier this year, and hosted by the same organizers. These events often serve as a professional meet-up for brewers and distributors as well, with vendors exchanging Business Cards and social media handles. The organization also hosts the annual Down East Brewing Awards to recognize the best in Maritime craft beer and beyond.
The 2024 Down East Brewfest has been announced for August 3 on Carleton Street in Fredericton, with the festival taking place rain or shine.
