An display by clay artist Keith Rice-Jones, featuring grand pieces of ceramic works, is now available for viewing outside of the Surrey Arts Centre.
This show, entitled Monumental Sculptures, will be on display until the end of October for anyone to view. There is no admission fee to see this exhibit, which comprises five large pieces of ceramic artwork from two different series. Three pieces come from his organic series, while the remaining two pieces come from his geometric series. Each piece ranges from about one metre to almost two metres in height.
The pieces from the geometric series artistically demonstrate the artist’s love for shapes and how they play into art Forms. The three pieces from the organic series are different, almost representing life through Forms that suggest a head and body.
Normally, artistic exhibits involve showings and ticket sales, but this is being done differently. It is outdoors and anyone can walk by to take a look at the different pieces. The show will be promoted through normal marketing services, such as via the Surrey Art Centre’s website, as well as various news channels.
Rice-Jones was trained as a woodworker in England, but began working with clay in the 1970s. His works are often on exhibit in British Columbia, as well as England and Japan. He recently received the honour of a residency at Australia’s Sturt Craft Centre.Get a Free Quote for Forms
