Surrey gardeners invited to take a walk on the wild side

The wild spaces of Surrey and the surrounding areas are home to many native species of plants, and some of these can be added to the home landscape. A walk has been planned that will lead local green thumbs and amateur naturalists alike on a guided tour of them in their natural setting.

The event, which is scheduled to take about two hours, will be led by Bardia Khaledi, who has a lot of experience in utilizing native species. As they go, the group will learn more about how and where they can obtain these plants so that they will not harm populations of them in the wild. Pamphlets that have been produced by a brochure printing company can be used at this type of occasion.

Those who plan on being included in the walk have been asked to register ahead of time and dress for the weather. The walkers will meet at Little Campbell Hatchery before setting out along the forest trail. After this, they will move on to Darts Hill Garden, where they will have an opportunity to be inspired by its native plant gardens. Refreshments will be provided.

This free event has been scheduled for May 13 and all who are interested are welcome. The Darts Hill Garden website includes more information and a chance to register to participate.
