Nature festival to make Penticton return

The Meadowlark Festival will be back in the Penticton area this May, providing residents and visitors with numerous ways to experience the Okanagan.

The Festival aims to appeal to a wide cross-section of nature lovers, including events like guided hikes, canoe trips, bird watching, and back-country horseback riding. Organizes will hold tours bringing people from Penticton out into the wilderness, with topics like “Meadowlark Rendezvous”, “The Wonders of White Lake” and “Naramata History Walking Tour.”

Visitors can observe film screenings and lectures, or take part in educational activities to learn about topics like Aboriginal culture, geology, and astronomy. Each event will be lead by an expert in its field. Participants can also engage their artistic side with outdoor painting lessons, photography tutorials, and writing workshops.

The Meadowlark Festival is hosted annually on Victoria Day weekend and aims to highlight conservation and environmental initiatives in the Okanagan Similkameen area. Nature events like this often use majestic outdoor imagery on flyer printing and social media to encourage participation. The Festival also highlights its impact on the local economy in promotional material:

“The Festival promotes the Okanagan Similkameen as a major tourism destination in general and also offers insight and information about more specific locations that are of interest to eco-tourists, artists, birders, outdoor sporting enthusiasts such as hikers, cyclists, canoeists and others.”

The 2026 Meadowlark Nature Festival will take place from May 14 to 18 at various locations in and around Penticton.
