The twenty-fifth annual BC Seniors Games will take place at various venues across Burnaby from August 21 - 25. Participation in the games is open to those aged 55 and over.
There are 26 different sports in which up to 4,000 athletes will compete, including archery, darts, ice hockey, soccer, table tennis, bocce, badminton, carpet bowling, cribbage, and cycling. The Games is a chance for over 55s to show that they are still able to compete and are just as active as those who are younger. It is also a great opportunity to show off their skills to their friends and family. In addition to the competition, many will just be participating to prove something to themselves, regardless of whether they win or lose.
Sponsorships are available for local businesses from $249 to $30,000. Depending on their level of sponsorship, sponsors will receive a mention in the souvenir program, recognition at the event, can have a vendor display, and will have signage displayed at the event.
